GM did not want to replace transmission and driveline parts under warranty, so they designed a very weak, anemic clutch master cylinder barely capable of moving enough fluid to fully disengage the stock clutch in perfect working order.  With years of wear (and/or an aftermarket clutch that requires more fluid to disengage), the inadequacy of the GM Master Cylinder becomes even more apparent.

Our Tick Performance Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder Kits are built here in the USA around Tilton 7/8” Bore Cylinders (the same used in NASCAR every Sunday) and are made adjustable so that you can tailor the amount of fluid that your system needs in order to fully disengage ANY clutch, from stock to hardcore race-only clutches.  With our kit installed, you’ll notice:

  • A slightly stiffer (we normally see ~15%), shorter pedal (in most cases) due to the increased cylinder bore
  • A clutch pedal that is easier to modulate with a predictable, constant engagement point
  • Effortless shifts at any RPM (especially high RPM), even when driving extremely aggressively
  • Longer clutch & transmission life as a result of a properly-disengaging clutch

Option Guide: Do I need a GM Quick Disconnect Tool?
A special tool is NOT necessary in order to remove & reinstall the GM Quick Disconnect Fitting that mates your hydraulic clutch line to your slave cylinder, but it does make the task a bit easier (and reduces the risk of damage) versus using a screwdriver or universal tool.  The GM Quick Disconnect Tool that we offer is specifically designed for use with the GM Quick Disconnect Fitting.

Warranty Information

All Tick Performance Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder Kits are warrantied against leakage for the entire time you own yours! If you develop a leak, simply send the kit back with a copy of your invoice and the cylinder will be replaced or repaired and shipped back to you via Ground free of charge. Our warranty is void when used in non-original ("swap") applications.

    Hi All,
    I purchased this with high expectation. I am proud to say my expectations were exceeded to say the least. Solid construction, and most importantly YOU ARE GETTING WHAT YOU PAID FOR! Install went as smooth as a well tuned cars dyno graph! I will say i have put a solid 10 miles on it (NY Weather) and got the adjustment spot on first try, i installed per directions and did about 3/4 of a turn more and it was spot on. i do have a shim installed on my slave cylinder so that may have helped me idk... THANK YOU AGAIN ALL THE BEST AND MANY MORE YEARS OF BUSINESS GUYS!!!

    Since the day I got my trans am it's had clutch problems I went through 3 sets of autozone hydraulics till I finally bought this tick master and do I hate myself for not getting it sooner. Amazing feel easy installation. Even easier then the crappy oem u bolt. Just overall amazing product. And you just can't beat a high rpm shift that's smoother then butter

    2001 trans am would not go into gear after ls7 clutch install. Replaced slave, master, and clutch again still same problem then read on forums and found out about tick master. Installed and bled so easily could not believe now car goes into gear no problems. This is the first time I have ever run into this and would recommend this with any clutch change and fix all your clutch issues.

    Upgraded my MC while replacing my slave and clutch, works great. The new setup has a noticeably heavier pedal than stock but I think that is mostly the upgraded clutch.

    After battling with the no clutch issue on and off for a little while on my 01 SS, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Ticks Master Cylinder and the problem was corrected. Not difficult to install and easy to adjust. Great feeing pedal and no issues with high RPM shifting. Quality craftsmanship.

    Well, I've done a lot of research and it ended here. Bought this bad boy hoping to solve sticking clutch pedal issues. Every time I got on the car, the pedal would stick to the Floor. So annoying!! Everyone advised me to get this MC. So glad I did. For the first time ever, I chirped 3rd in my car. What a feeling! And the clutch came back up. So worried I was going to have to bust open the tranny. Thanks Tick. You made one hell of a Master Cylinder. This thing rocks!

    I have had this car since 2009 and really since day one I really never like how the clutch pedal felt.it felt spongee,almost on the floor and sometimes you would have to lift it back up with your foot.could not shift in the upper RPMS . So really I was thinking that it was more than just clutch master cylinder well anyways I went and picked one up from Napa. Well then I started reading up on it and there were a lot of the same problems people were having and they were saying how the Tick master cylinder worked for them so I said this has got to be the solution and damn it was I am so glad I purchased it. It was worth every bit of it.you can just look at it and see the quality verses the stock Gm ones. GM needs to take lessons on this on.if you like you car the way it is now you the buy tick you will love car for sure.
