Tick Performance proudly offers our Elite Series of Camshafts designed specifically for LT1 & LT4 Engines! Using the latest and greatest technology available, we've put together a complete line of Camshafts that are designed to meet every goal, from mild to wild. Our Elite Series of Camshafts for generation 2 LT engines are manufactured by Comp Cams to our specifications. Although we suggest measuring for piston-to-valve clearance during ANY camshaft install, every Elite Series Camshaft is designed to fit in a stock engine using stock heads and stock head gaskets with adequate clearance unless otherwise noted. These cams are designed to maximize power, reliability and valvetrain longevity.

New for 2022, cast cam cores are being phased out and will no longer be produced. All cam cores will now be made of billet steel. These cams will maintain an oil pump drive gear that works with the factory oil pump drive, so no need for a special gear however we recommend replacing the gear with a new GM part anytime a new cam is installed.

If your engine has a 3.875" or longer stroke crank or excessively bulky connecting rods you may need a small base circle camshaft. If you have any questions about fitment call! We have found that standard base circle cams typically fit with 3.750" and shorter strokes, and in rare cases a small amount of material can be removed from the connecting rod itself if necessary.

Tick Performance HaterMaker Stage 2 Camshaft for LT1 & LT4 Engines
233/239 | .560”/.569” | LSA110+3 (.597"/.607" lift with 1.6 rockers)

Designed for: LT1 and LT4 Engines (350-360ci) with stock or ported stock cylinder heads and intake manifold.
Basic Operating RPM Range: 2800-6600
Expected Horsepower Gains: 45-55 RWHP over the stock camshaft in a well-optimized setup
Aftermarket Headers Required: No (although long tube headers will allow maximum power gains)
Stall Converter Required: Yes, 3200RPM+ stall speed required for optimal results
Rear Gear Upgrade Required: Suggested for maximum performance (3.23 and numerically higher for manual transmissions and automatic)
Works Well with Nitrous: Yes (shot size 200 or less)
Will Pass Most Smog Emissions: No

Our Tick Performance HaterMaker Stage 2 Camshaft for LT1 & LT4 Engines is a fresh design, and is perfect for those who want to gain a significant amount of power with an aggressive, choppy idle. This camshaft has 16 degrees of valve overlap at .050", so some low rpm cam surge and buck can be expected, but with a proper tune, gearing, and converter if applicable this cam will still be very drive-able. Hundreds of hours were spent developing this camshaft to perform precisely the way we advertise, so as a result, changes to the LSA or any other specification of this camshaft are not available.

Option Guide:  Lifters

If you would like to add a set of lifters to your order, you have three options.  Morel 5315 lifters are a direct fit, drop-in replacement lifter and is considered a higher quality lifter than the OEM or LS7 lifter.  The 5315 will retain the factory lifter guides and hold down spring and can be installed without cylinder head removal.  Morel 5372 steps up to an entry level link bar lifter set.  Each pair of lifters has a link bar that connects the two lifters and prevents them from spinning in the bore.  While not common, the factory lifter guides can come out of place during an over-rev event such as a missed gear which will result in a damaged camshaft as the lifter can then turn in its bore allowing the roller to drag against the lobe instead of rolling in-line.  Due to the extra height needed to attach the link bar, cylinder head removal is required to install these lifters.  Morel 4602 is a Premium 'short travel' lifter which is ideal for high rpm use and higher valve spring pressures needed to control heavy valvetrain components.  It is also a link bar design and will require cylinder head removal to install.

Option Guide:  Spring Kit

You may already have valve springs with adequate pressure and lift capabilities for this camshaft, but if you choose to purchase springs you have two options.  The Lunati 73925K5 kit comes with dual springs, tool steel retainers, locks, as well as locators and seals to fit factory guides.  The Tick/PAC 1207x spring kit is a premium spring kit with increased pressures and comes with titanium retainers, locks, locators, and seals.  Choose this option if you want titanium retainers, or just a better quality spring for higher rpm control.   If you have different heads, machined spring pockets, aftermarket valves, etc. you you will need to verify installed height with a spring height micrometer to verify proper install height.

Option Guide:  Oil Pump Drive

We highly recommend the use of a new oil pump drive gear when replacing the camshaft so they can develop a wear pattern together.  A used gear with a wear pattern matched to the previous cam can fail prematurely once mated to your new camshaft.  GM 19052845 is an OEM gear and our Elite Series camshafts are designed to work properly with the stock gear.  Bronze or Composite gears are not required.  Add the LT1ODPH to replace the OEM composite oil pump drive housing with our billet aluminum version.  While the factory composite housing is fine in most instances, a high volume oil pump and/or improper bolt torque can cause the housing to crack under the retaining bolt and fail, which can lead to total engine failure.

Option Guide:  Include Pushrod Length Checker

Unlike the LS series of engines, the SBC LT engines have a factory adjustable valvetrain.  If you're using this camshaft, you should also upgrade your rocker arms.  Proper valvetrain geometry is critical to the life of your valves, valve guides, rocker studs, and rocker arms.  Due to a wide variety of available rockers and valves combined with differences in valve jobs, surface milled heads, surface milled blocks, lifters,  etc. you may choose to add this pushrod length checking tool to determine proper pushrod length before purchasing something that is incorrect.  The final pushrod length you determine should be in the range of 7.050" to 7.250" in most cases.  Once you have determined proper length, give us a call as we keep all lengths of pushrods in stock.

Option Guide:  Include Spring Height Micrometer

If you want to verify valve spring installed height to ensure that you will have proper spring travel before coil bind and to also verify that the spring pressure on the seat isn't excessive choose to add the spring height micrometer to your order.  This micrometer has been modified to work properly with the retainers included in the spring kits we offer.  If you have a stock engine, with stock cylinder heads that have never been removed you likely will not need this tool as the kit we package will work without measurement, but if you have aftermarket or machined factory heads it is a good idea to verify a proper installation.

Option Guide:  Valve Stem Seal Installation Tool

The viton valve stem seals included with our spring packages are a press fit onto the valve guide just like the oem seals.  Add this tool for a precise fit and minimize the chance of damaging a seal during installation.
