No, the LS7 Flanges are only required if you are utilizing a LS7 style cylinder head with “D” shaped exhaust ports. This option makes this a custom-built header which has a 4 to 6 week lead time. Due to the custom nature of this product it is NOT returnable / refundable.

Option Guide: Do I need to add Jet Hot Ceramic Coating?

No but reducing your under-hood temperatures can increase the performance of your vehicle. Please allow an additional 10-12 business days for Jet Hot Ceramic Coating. Coated Headers are NOT returnable / refundable.

Glad I bought them but more of a hassle than I was anticipating.

The good: Great horsepower gains with a good tune. Exhaust sound is a lot more impressive. Get to hear a bit more of the valvetrain (I really like it). Build quality looks and feels reassuring. Niggle 1: Didn't provide enough clearance for some spark plug wire boots. Had to use some heavy duty wire to wrap around the boots that touched (2) and tie them off to something that lifted the boot just off of the header. It looks ghetto but I've checked online and this seems to be a common problem with all header types on LS engines. There are other solutions. Niggle 2: The driver side header touched the steering shaft but just barely and possibly because I got the headers coated (that's how close it was). When steering to the right they separated just enough to cause a strong and loud vibration. Had to disconnect the steering again and make a tiny dent in the header. Niggle 3: I'm pretty confident the increased under-hood temperatures did my already well-aged battery in. Overall: Despite the niggles, I'm glad I bought them and I'd recommend these to anybody. I recommend moving your battery to your trunk and taking measures to insulate your air intake if you're getting headers, but those are things you had planned to do anyway, right? ;o)

    Bad Ass

I ordered a set of these as part of my stage 1 build on my 2005 GTO which consisted of mild head porting and valve train upgrades, cam, FAST 102, with these headers and catted mids. I got these headers with the larger 1 7/8 primaries because I planned to put a stroker kit in my LS2 and make it a 402. I thought that with stock displacement I would lose a lot of torque but that did not happen. I had her tuned and she is a beast putting down 460 HP to the rear wheels. I can't wait to see what she will do when stage 2 goes into effect and the displacement better matches the cam and headers I installed. I am highly satisfied with the performance of these headers and how they help the other parts make excellent horsepower for the investment I made. I heard Kooks was the best for LS engines and now I know why. Fit and install was fairly straight forward, a little tight on the drivers side but manageable. I also put some header wrap on the two front pipes because of the close proximity to the sparkplug wire boot.
