If you're removing the transmission for any reason, make sure you replace the slave cylinder while you've got everything apart. The weak link in the factory hydraulic setup is the master cylinder, so there is no need to upgrade your slave - just keep it fresh. This unit may be used as a cheaper replacement for C5 Corvette and 04-06 Pontiac GTO Slave Cylinders, as well.  Using an F-Body slave in those applications simply requires that you swap the fittings over from your stock slave cylinder onto this F-Body unit.  Aside from the fittings, the cylinders themselves are the same.

This slave cylinder is the best GM revision (01+ style) and comes with throwout bearing.
