Katech Inc. has been involved with the C5-R race program since 1997. There seemed to be a bad spot in the rpm range where the serpentine accessory belt would want to jump off of the pulley. This is the origin of the solid adjustable belt tensioner! After installing this tensioner on the race engine, the belt problem disappeared. Even though this problem was found on the race engines, it is also the same case with the standard LSx engines.

These belt tensioners are a must for anyone doing any sort of performance driving with a Gen 3 / 4 powered car or truck. Without it, the belt can be thrown by the stock tensioner. This is not something you want to happen when you are going down the strip or racing around the road course!

*Not recommend for use on supercharged engines unless the supercharger has a dedicated drive.

  • Anodized Tensioner with Laser Etched Logo
  • Includes the Pulley
  • Fits LS1, LS6, LS2, LS3, L99 and LS7 powered Corvette, CTS-V, Camaro, Firebird, GTO and G8
  • Choose your color during checkout

NOTE: 2010-2012 Camaro requires Gates belt part number K060827.
NOTE: 2013-2015 Camaro requires Gates belt part number K060790.

Best part I've bought for my car had a new stock tensioner and kept throwing the belt off even with new belt so got this part and haven't had a problem yet! Well worth the money

Good quality and very easy to install. Was having belt throwing problems with the stock tensioner before I bought this tensioner.

    Better than OEM

Stock tensioner snapped. Twice. This one holds up to the torque very well! I usually don't stray from OEM, but this was necessary!

Very nice piece. Blue anodized is sweet. Extremely well designed and easy to install. Might need another one for my truck.
