Qualifying

In the qualifying, almost everyone had been battling traction and heat amongst other miscellaneous issues. We were cut short and limited to only 3 qualifying rounds. At the top of the list with the best time was Joel Grannas (Grannas Racing) putting down a 4.633 @ 162 mph.

Eliminations

In the first round Troy Klutts in his fresh F-body chassis went up against Nick Cole-Man in his S10. Nick beat out Troy advancing him to the next round. Jonathan Atkins in GrubbWorm lined up against Sean Madden (NXT Shift) in his Corvette, knocking out Sean and securing his position in the 2nd round.

Jon Roger (Import Drag Solutions) in his 240sx faced Stephen Plemmons (Moore HP) in his ‘69 Camaro beating him to the 8th and moving on to the next round. Ryan Pederson in the Black Corvette took the victory against Chris Moore in his 4th gen Camaro, allowing him to move on to the next round.

Lastly, in the upset of the event, Thomas West (Renegade Racing) in his S2000 took down the #1 Qualifier Joel Grannas earning him a bye going into the 2nd round of eliminations.

In the second round of elimination Jon Rogers put down another consistent pass knocking out Nick Cole-Man taking him to the Semi-Finals. GrubbWorm went up against Ryan Pederson taking him out with a 4.605 @ 160 mph pass.

Thomas West used his bye pass to further experimenting with this brand new setup. He launched the car lifting the front end up but only putting down a 5.881 @ 108 mph.

Semi-Finals

Thomas was finally taken out by Jon Rogers who again put down a solid pass, knocking out the S2000 and taking Jon to the finals. Grubbworm still had disengagement issues during the pass against Pederson. Consequently Jonathan the team opted to swap in a backup transmission before the semi-finals. Jonathan put down 4.489 @ 176 MPH in his bye pass.

Finals

In the finals the 240sx lined up against GrubbWorm. The tires broke loose on the 240sx for the first time all week. Jonathan put down the quickest pass in the stick class with a 4.488 @ 175 mph beat Jon in the 240sx! Making Jonathan the first ever winner of the Gear Bangerz class at Lights Out.
