Great clutch kit but if your a noob like me, read this.

First of all, this is a great clutch kit that has everything you need. If I had to do it again, I would most definitely would. I went from an aging factory clutch to a Monster Stage 3 on my GTO daily driver and WOW what a difference. My launches are worlds better. With that said, I'm going to tell you some things I wish somebody had told me. Niggle 1 "What have I done?": The first engagement was very unnerving. The whole car shuddered heavily. I thought I had seriously messed up by getting this clutch, but I realize now that it was a combination of a lot of things that were causing it to do that. First and foremost, it was brand new and needed to be broken in. Second, I had just installed a carbon fiber 1-piece driveshaft and my transmission has a bit of slop in it so that probably compounded the shudder/feedback. Third, I have driven plenty of high-power cars with stage 3 clutches but it was after they were already broken in and seasoned, so this shudder was not something I was expecting and it scared me. I gave it a chance and after the break-in period and getting used to it, it calmed down to what I initially expected it to be. If I try to slip it all all I either get a tiny bit of shudder with a noise that sounds exactly like Optimus Prime under braking from the first Transformers movie or I get an embarrassingly heavy shudder. I'd like to avoid slipping at all but some daily driving requires it such as in parking lots. Bottom line, give it a chance and get used to semi-quick takeoffs. You'll be glad you did. Niggle 2: The copper crush washer for the remote bleeder leaked, and not just a little bit. I was lucky that it didn't contaminate my clutch. It made me physically sick to my stomach to get it all together only to find that a 25-cent copper washer was going to make me take the whole thing apart again. After looking on the forums I found this to be a rare, but not unheard of, problem with these. I also found a solution that ended up working for me: a copper washer with a slightly smaller inner diameter. I found some at a local industrial supply store for 25-cents apiece. Voilà! Now I can bleed my GTO in no time which is really handy considering the late model GTOs along with late model Corvettes and F-bodies are notorious for getting clutch dust in the fluid. Niggle 3: The thickness of the clutch material on the pucks can be initially unnerving, but knowledge conquers fear: the material is extremely resilient so it doesn't need much. I found a few people on forums with this same concern but the thickness doesn't seem to affect the longevity of the clutch. Niggle 4: The instructions are a little vague but probably not so bad that you can't ultimately figure out what they're trying to say. All in all, it's a big performance improvement over stock at the sacrifice of some streetability but I'm glad I did it and I know a tranny rebuild will improve my clutch engagement dramatically.

Great customer service and products! Monster clutch package.

I purchased the stage 2 monster clutch package. Shipping was extremely fast!! I was very happy with the tracking. When the tick master arrived I emediately noticed the good quality build of it. Even though the brand new unit had a small leak it didn't seem to be an issue at all. After explaining my situation to tick, they offered to send mine back but I was hesitant because I knew it would take longer for me to ship it then have them reship it when it was repaired or replaced. They told me that they didn't do an exchange anymore until they actually had the master and see the cause. I told them that at this point I didn't care and I would pay for it now and they could then determine if mine qualified for an exchange later when they received it, after discussing it they happily agreed to my terms and I called on Thursday and asked for next day shipping and sure enough the Damn thing was here in San Diego California by 6am then delivered to me by 10am. I then replaced the cylinder within a hour bleed my entire new system and my new clutch and cylinders (master and slave) were nice and firm a little to firm but man was I happy to get my goal running!! Thanks tick.
